Planning carton volume for a healthcare shipment
A carton-based estimate helps you discuss the likely shipment size. It is a starting point for freight planning, not a substitute for a confirmed loading plan.
Use outside carton measurements
Measure the outside length, width and height of each packed master carton. With measurements in centimetres, carton volume in cubic metres is length × width × height ÷ 1,000,000. Multiply by the number of identical cartons.
Track gross weight separately
Enter the gross weight of each packed carton and multiply by the carton quantity. Volume and payload are separate limits. A shipment can exceed the selected weight budget even when space remains in the container.
Account for practical loading needs
Carton orientation, stacking limits, pallets, protective material and loading gaps affect usable space. Check door clearance and any special handling needs. Confirm the actual equipment and route limits with your freight partner.
